Multi Venue Hospitality Brand System
Repositioning Indian Dining for Modern Growth
Eight venues. One brand authority. Rebuilt, repositioned and scaled over more than a decade.
Context
When Tiam came on board, Bombay Bliss was running four locations across the Sunshine Coast. The business was established. The positioning wasn’t working.
It sat firmly in Indian takeaway territory. Traditional. Heavy. Predictable. That perception was putting a ceiling on pricing, atmosphere and the audience the brand could credibly reach.
The brief was straightforward: refresh and reposition Bombay Bliss across the existing four venues, then launch a fifth under a sharper, more commercially elevated identity.
What followed went further than that.
As the relationship grew, so did the portfolio. Leela came first. A premium contemporary dining concept in Noosa. Refined. Minimal. Built for a higher price point and a different kind of guest. Then Thali Dhaba, a street food brand in Maroochydore. Grounded, energetic and deliberately informal.
Neither was an extension of Bombay Bliss. Both were built from scratch.
What began as a brand refresh became portfolio architecture.
Leadership & Control
For more than a decade, Tiam acted as sole Brand Director across the entire group.
No agency layer. No rotating creative teams. No fragmented suppliers. Every decision ran through one strategic lens: positioning, identity, spatial integration, photography, marketing and digital infrastructure.
Bombay Bliss repositioning. Fifth store launch. Leela concept development. Thali Dhaba creation. All of it.
That continuity is what allowed the portfolio to grow without losing clarity.
The Strategic Shift
The core problem with Bombay Bliss was perception. Takeaway first, dining second. Shifting that required more than a visual update.
The repositioning moved the brand toward modern, elevated dining without abandoning its cultural roots. Typography evolved. Colour systems matured. Spatial graphics were refined. Food presentation lifted. Photography modernised. The fifth location launched under this clearer identity.
Perception shifted.
Leela and Thali Dhaba started with sharper intent from day one.
Leela was built as a premium contemporary restaurant. Controlled typography, restrained colour, spatial calm. Everything calibrated to its Noosa audience and price point.
Thali Dhaba was the opposite. Street food energy. Bold graphics. Faster tempo. Informal by design.
Three concepts. Three distinct positions. One strategic framework holding them together.
Brand Architecture
The portfolio needed separation without confusion.
Bombay Bliss became a contemporary mid-market dining brand. Leela established a premium identity with its own visual language. Thali Dhaba operated as a casual, accessible system built around energy and informality.
Each concept had its own audience, tone and commercial objective. Logo systems developed independently. Typography defined per brand. Colour architecture aligned to positioning. Visual hierarchies calibrated to price point and experience.
Separate brands. Connected logic.
Spatial Integration
Brand wasn’t applied to each space after the fact. It was built in from the start.
Bombay Bliss venues were refurbished to reflect the evolved identity. Leela’s interiors aligned with refined contemporary dining. Thali Dhaba carried street food character through graphics, tone and material choices.
External fascia signage, interior graphics, menu boards, window treatments, custom artwork and large scale installations were all developed as part of each brand system. Tiam worked directly with signwriters, builders and interior designers through every refurbishment and new build to make sure nothing drifted.
What appeared on the wall and what appeared on the page came from the same place.
Photography & Visual Authority
Photography wasn’t outsourced, Tiam shot all food imagery, venue photography and video content across the portfolio, building the central visual library used across menus, websites and campaigns.
Visual tone was tailored per concept. Refined for Leela. Energetic for Thali Dhaba. Contemporary for Bombay Bliss.
One creative direction. Three distinct expressions.
Marketing & Digital Infrastructure
The system ran across every commercial touchpoint. Menu design, corporate stationery, advertising, social media, website builds, digital ordering, launch campaigns and ongoing promotional rollouts, executed across eight venues over more than a decade.
Each brand maintained its own presence. All of it within structured portfolio oversight.
Eight venues. Three identities. One direction.
Expansion & Launch Capability
The portfolio didn’t stay static.
Bombay Bliss was refreshed across four existing locations before the fifth launched under its repositioned identity. Leela went from concept to market entry as a premium dining brand. Thali Dhaba was introduced as a new street food system with its own positioning, identity and spatial language.
Each expansion needed different strategy, different tone and different execution. The system absorbed all of it without fragmentation or reinvention from scratch.
Outcome
What started as a takeaway-oriented brand became a structured multi-brand hospitality portfolio.
Bombay Bliss evolved. Leela established a premium contemporary presence. Thali Dhaba captured a separate market segment entirely. Brand, space, photography and digital infrastructure now operate as deliberate systems across eight venues.
Perception elevated. Position diversified. Growth sustained.
Strategy first. Creative always. Systems to scale.
